   CM TO GIVE DEBT RELIEF WORTH AROUND RS 200 CRORE TO FARMERS IN NAKODAR- DC

Nakodar (Jalandhar), March 10-

          Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would give a relief of around Rs 200 crore to the debt ridden farmers of six districts in a massive function here on March 14.

          Presiding over a review meeting to foresee the arrangements for this mega event here at the local grain market, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by the Senior Superintendent of Police Jalandhar Rural Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, said that the district administration would make elaborate arrangements to facilitate nearly 40,000 farmers participating in this function from Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Kapurthala, Moga, Ferozepur and Fazilka district. He said that district wise seating arrangements for the farmers would be made for smooth conduct of the event. In the same manner, Mr. Sharma said that separate parking for the vehicles coming for the event from different places would be made to ensure hassle free movement of traffic.

          Likewise, the Deputy Commissioner said that necessary arrangements for food would also be made for the farmers arriving in this event. He said that a foolproof plan would also be evolved for smooth movement of traffic in Nakodar during the event. Mr. Sharma asked the officers/ officials that he would personally monitor the day-to-day arrangements of this mega event.

The Deputy Commissioner also asked the Police department to put in place the mechanism for stepping up the security arrangements besides monitoring the parking and traffic plan in an apt manner. Mr. Sharma asked the authorities to ensure proper cleanliness of the roads leading to the venue, install welcome gates and decoration, sprinkle water on roads and ensure temporary urinal and mobile toilets for the people coming to the event.
