PUNJAB GOVERNMENT CLEARS 87 CRORE VAT REFUNDS
Chandigarh, April 13: In pursuance of the assurance made by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh in the Vidhan Sabha during the recent Budget Session of clearing long-pending VAT refunds, the Punjab Government today released a sum of Rs. 87 crore to the Department of Excise & Taxation for disbursal to the concerned assessees.
A spokesperson of the Government stated that the Chief Minister was committed towards upholding the trust reposed in his Government by the business community and to create a favourable climate for investment in trade and industry. He further informed that the Chief Minister has asked the Finance Department to work out a system to ensure periodical releases to clear the pending arrears.
