Punjab Vigilance nabs ASI taking bribe of Rs.35,000
Ferozepur March 23, 2018: Punjab Vigilance Bureau today nabbed ASI Gurmail Singh No.1386 presently posted at Ferozepur Women Cell for taking a bribe of Rs.35,000.
Giving the details about the trap, Sat Prem Singh, Inspector Vigilance Bureau, Ferozepur informed that on the complaint of Malkit Singh son of Swaran Singh of village and post office Ahmed Dhandi, Tehsil Ferozepur, Gurmail Singh ASI was nabbed for taking a bribe red-handed of Rs.35,000, under the shadow witnessed Bohar Singh Jagir Singh of village Ahmed Dhandi, Guruharsahai.
The IO further informed that ASI Gurmail Singh was investigating the complaint of Surjit Rani wife of Jagdish Singh brother of the complainant, against his first husband Arjan Ram. He was arrested taking a bribe of Rs.35,000 red-handed for not registration of the case against the brother of the complainant Jagdish Singh.
In this case, the government witnesses were Karanbir Singh Medical Office, Kassoana, and Amritpal Singh, Asstt. Food and Supplies Officer, Ferozepur, he added.
Further investigation into the case is on, he further said.
