CM’s Advisor reviews implementation of GoGs project in Kapurthala
Kapurthala, March 9 :
Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Lieutenant General TS Shergill today reviews the functioning of Guardians of Governance (Khushali de Rakhe, GoGs) in Kapurthala district and instructed the concerned members to ensure participation of likeminded people for bringing in much needed social transformation in the state through effective implementation of policies. Interacting with the GoGs at Virsa Vihar alongwith Vice Chairman of GoG project Major General SPS Grewal and Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Mr. Mohammad Tayyab, Mr Shergill said that these people, who were the eyes and ears of the state government, should engage more and more number of youth and women to ensure that government policies were implemented in right earnest. He said that this would help in ushering in an era of social revolution, which would make Punjab a front runner state in the country.
The Senior Advisor to Chief Minister also asked the GoGs to submit accurate, unbiased and factual free report pertaining to the government schemes. He said that Chief Minister was himself regularly monitoring this flagship scheme so the report presented by the GoGs must be up to the mark, so that appropriate and prompt action could be taken on it. Giving fresh set of directions to the GoGs, the Senior Advisor said that besides keeping an eye over implementation of the various government schemes the ex-servicemen should also have the information regarding illegal mining and others to ensure that state was free from these maladies.
Lauding the efforts of Chief Minister , Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Tayyab said that this was first of its kind project, which could be replicated all the over the country after its success in the state as the ex-servicemen were blessed with great qualities like honesty, dedication and hard work which was required to implement pro-people and development oriented policies in the right earnest.
Earlier in his address, Vice Chairman of GoG project, Major General SPS Grewal said that GoGs were not associated with any political party but they were working for realizing the dream of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to make Punjab a front ranking state in the country. District head GoGs Col. Taranjit Singh informed that So far 48 Gogs have been engaged to keep an eye on the implementation of government policies at grass rout level.
